White House threatens to veto GOP drilling bill

According to TheHill.com<--LINK, Republicans are expected to vote Wednesday  on H.R.6082, a bill which administration officials say would "undermine the targeted, science-based, and regionally-tailored offshore developmen strategy".  Obama advisers indicate a veto will be utilized on this bill.

House Natural Resources Committee Chairman Doc Hastings (R-Wash.), after his panel approved the plan last week, called the bill “an environmentally responsible drill-smart plan that will create jobs, grow our economy, and lower gasoline prices with more American energy.”

I have one question:  Do the Republicans actually think Obama shares such economic goals?

This legislation is necessary because Republicans allege the White House is keeping too many promising regions off-limits to oil-and-gas drillers.

I hear Obama remarking to his supporters that Congress has, yet again,  wasted time voting to repeal Obamacare, and that there are other more important things they could be working on.

Here, now, we have an example of Congress doing something good for the economy and what does the administration do?  They wave the veto pen!
