Georgia Sheriff Pulls Business form Arms Company that Ceased Semi-auto sales to civilians
From FreedomOutpost.com - Sign up with them to get their e-mail news leter.
I say, We need more Sheriffs like the on in this Freedom Outpost story.
---------------------------
Dana Safety Supply, a major distributor of weapons and accessories to police departments and civilians across the United States, has declared that they will no longer sell semi-automatic rifles to civilians. Instead, they will only sell to law enforcement. This prompted Oconee County, Georgia Sheriff Scott Barry to write them an email in which he told them he would no longer be seeking them out to purchase products for his department based on their decision.
This sign was photographed by a customer in Georgia as to DSS’ new policy:
Sheriff Barry wrote the following email to DSS:
Sirs,
It is my understanding that you have stopped selling self loading rifles to members of the general public in favor of selling them to law enforcement officers only.
I deeply regret that decision. As such, this agency will no longer seek bids from or purchase from DSS.
Thank you for your time and attention to this email.
Sheriff Scott Berry
Oconee County Georgia Sheriffs Office
A call to the headquarters of DSS resulted in a political answer of “we appreciate your call, but are in the midst of consulting to form a proper response.” They would neither confirm nor deny the report when called on Friday. Apparently their website and postings outside their businesses are more forthcoming than their headquarters.
DSS posting on it’s website
My hat is off to Sheriff Barry! In fact, Barry popped up on Fox Business for an interview.
In the interview, when asked why he would not longer be purchasing from DSS, Sheriff Barry said that since law abiding citizens couldn’t purchase a legal weapon there with money they have, then he wasn’t going to “spend their tax money” at such a business and he wasn’t going to “spend his personal money there” either. Come on! This guy is my kind of Sheriff!
When asked if it would “make his job easier” if “assault” rifles weren’t being sold and “out there,” Sheriff Barry responded by correcting the host that they were semi-automatic rifles, not assault rifles. He then went on to point out that there were millions of these weapons in America, but that “statistically an insignificant number of them are used to commit any kind of crime.”
Sheriff Barry was right on weapons and people. “Rifles of any type just don’t bother me,” he said. “Handguns of any type just don’t bother me. The truth is that in the hands of criminals they are tools of evil, but in the vast majority of hands, they are owned by law abiding citizens.”
When the host asked why take the term “assault rifle” off the table, the Sheriff responded by stating that the definition of the term is as “wide and as broad” as the building he was sitting in. The Sheriff described that an assault weapon was a military weapon that was designed for military purpose. “Semi-automatic rifles just aren’t assault rifles,” he said. “You can call them that, but that’s just not what they are.”
The host then asked Barry what his reaction to the Brady campaigns’ rating of an 8 out of 100 on Georgia’s regulations on firearms was. According to the host, who was citing the Brady campaign, the reasons for the low rating was because there was “no limits on gun purchases, no required background checks for gun show purchases, and no ban on ‘assault’ weapons,” Sheriff Barry said that he was “hoping to shoot for a lower number than that.” He did address the issue of the supposed “required background checks at gun shows” by stating that “law abiding citizens can sell guns in the parking lot or on the floor of a gun show.” He doesn’t know where they get the idea that it’s required to do a background check. He was emphatic in stating that he can sell his gun to anyone else no matter where he is at. The Sheriff rightly pointed out that one goes through the same process if they buy a gun through a dealer at a gun show that someone goes through at a standard brick and mortar store to purchase a firearm. He called the Brady statement concerning gun shows a “scare tactic.”
Barry said that Georgia believes in the Second Amendment and that means that law abiding citizens should be able to carry and buy firearms.
The rest of the interview is good too, Please watch it below.

D-Day For Gun Control un USA
Conservablogger Comments:
Is this what is defined as representation; the trashing of our Constitution by undermining our sovereignty? They have to know people wont stand for this. They'll have to create or implement their police state to enforce any gun restrictions.

Without much fanfare and with as little publicity as possible, Secretary of State Hillary Clinton will go to New York City to sign the Arms Trade Treaty (ATT), now in the final stages of negotiation at the U.N. The treaty marks the beginning of an international crusade to impose gun controls on the United States and repeal our Second Amendment rights.
The ATT is nominally geared toward the purpose of stopping international arms sales to gangs, criminals and violent groups. But, as is so often the case with U.N. treaties, this is merely a convenient facade behind which to conceal the ATT's true intent: to force gun control on the United States.
Secretary Clinton will doubtless succeed in inserting language into the treaty asserting that it in no way is meant to restrict our right to bear arms. But even this language will be meaningless in the face of the overall construct set up by the treaty.
The ATT is to be administered by an International Support Unit (ISU), which will ensure that "parties [to the treaty] take all necessary measures to control brokering activities taking place within [their] territories ... to prevent the diversion of exported arms to the illicit market or to unintended end users."
The ISU will determine whether nations are in compliance with this requirement and will move to make sure that they do, indeed, take "all necessary measures." This requirement will inexorably lead to gun registration, restrictions on ownership and, eventually, even outright bans on firearms.
Former U.N. Ambassador John Bolton said it best: "After the treaty is approved and comes into force, you will find out that it has this implication or that implication and that it requires Congress to adopt legislation to restrict the ownership of firearms."
Bolton explains that "the administration knows that it cannot obtain this kind of legislation in purely a domestic context. They will use an international agreement to get domestically what they couldn't get otherwise."
The treaty makes no sense otherwise, except as a circuitous vehicle to achieve gun control in the United States. The vast majority of all small arms and light arms exports (the ostensible focus of the treaty) are from sales by the governments of the United States, Russia, China, Germany and Israel. Individual or corporate arms trafficking is a distinct minority. But it is to absorb the brunt of the treaty's regulations.
Insofar as the treaty restricts governmental action, it bars governments from arming "illicit" groups in other nations. This provision could well be interpreted to ban U.S. arms sales to Iranian or Syrian dissidents. It could even be used by China to stop us from selling arms to Taiwan, since the U.N. does not recognize Taiwan as a nation, but rather an entity occupying territory that should belong to China.
And let's not forget how well the United States has done in reducing murders and other crimes despite the absence of comprehensive gun controls and bans. In 1993, there were 24,350 homicides in the United States. Last year, there were 13,576 (despite a growth of 60 million in the population). Only 9,000 of these murders involved a firearm. (Less than one-third of the highway deaths each year in the country.)
Obama has left gun control off his legislative agenda so far. Now his strategy becomes apparent: Use international treaties to achieve it.
And bear in mind that under the Supremacy Clause of our Constitution, we would be obliged to enforce the ATT despite the Second Amendment. International treaties have the force of constitutional law in the United States.
If it is ratified during the lame-duck session of the Senate this year, then nothing can ever change it. Goodbye, Second Amendment.
Right now we need 34 courageous Republican senators to step up and demand that Hillary not sign the treaty, and indicate their intention to vote against its ratification if it is submitted. Only such an action can stop this treachery in its tracks.

RED ALERT! UN GUN CONTROL IS BACK

Dear Friend,
After a wave of outrage stopped President Obama and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton from signing the proposed UN Gun Control Treaty (called the UN Arms Trade Treaty), the treaty advocates are back with a devilish new strategy!
As we warned in Here Come the Black Helicopters: UN Global Governance and the Loss of Freedom, the gun control advocates won't stop trying to impose gun controls on the United States through an international treaty to override the Second Amendment.
As we warned in Here Come the Black Helicopters: UN Global Governance and the Loss of Freedom, the gun control advocates won't stop trying to impose gun controls on the United States through an international treaty to override the Second Amendment.
The plan was to sign the treaty on July 27th in New York, but you sent 700,000 emails through our web site (www.DickMorris.com) alone to the Senate and that led 51 Senators to urge Hillary not to sign. She backed off and the negotiations ended.
Now advocates of the Treaty, as we predicted, are back and have introduced a resolution in the UN General Assembly calling for the resumption of negotiations and outlining a new procedure to get it passed even if the US objects.
Under their plan -- likely to be approved later this month by the General Assembly -- the negotiators are not going to seek consensus (read: U.S. approval) but will write the Treaty as they please and introduce it to the General Assembly for approval. If two-thirds of the Assembly vote for the treaty (a foregone conclusion), then it will be submitted to the nations of the world for signature and ratification. Nobody will be able to change the Treaty, they have the option of signing or not.
When sixty nations have signed, the Treaty will take effect and be binding on those who have signed and ratified it.
Here's the rest of the plan: After the election is over, Obama and Hillary will probably sign the Treaty. They then won't submit it for ratification since, under the Vienna Convention, it takes effect automatically on their signature even without Senate ratification. That means that the Treaty takes full effect unless one of two things happen:
(a) Either the Senate votes to kill the Treaty, or
(b) The president or a future president renounces it
The first option won't happen. Senate Majority Leader Harry Reid won't permit the Treaty to come up for a vote in the lame duck Senate session that begins after Election Day. He knows it would lose. So, as long as Obama is president and he doesn't renounce the Treaty, it will take effect without Senate action.
We need to mobilize to stop this end run around our Constitution. Once the Arms Trade Treaty is signed by Obama, it will open the door to international gun controls imposed by the Geneva-based enforcers of the Treaty.
(Nominally, the Treaty bars the exportation of small arms by private individuals or companies to foreign countries. But, in its enforcement, it obliges signatory countries to require registration of the small arms in their citizens' possession. And, if that fails to stop the export of small arms, it empowers the global body to take further steps, likely to include prohibition and confiscation.
Please sign this petition to stop the Arms Trade Treaty. We succeeded before in forcing a postponement, now let's stop the Treaty and kill it entirely.
To do this, please send this email all over the place so it goes viral and we get millions of emails to deluge the Senate, the President, Hillary, and the UN.

USA Today's 2nd Amendment Poll - Do You Have the Right to bear Arms?
Own a Gun?
TAKES 10 SECONDS ... PLEASE DO IT AND PASS IT ON
Own a Gun, or not! Please Keep This Moving
Guess they were not happy with the poll results the first time, so USA Today is running another one... Vote now!
Attorney General, Eric Holder, has already said this is one of his major issues. He does not believe the 2nd Amendment gives individuals the right to bear arms. This takes literally 2 clicks to complete. Please vote on this gun issue question with USA Today. It will only take a few seconds of your time. Then pass the link on to all the pro- gun folks you know. Hopefully these results will be published later this month. This upcoming year will become critical for gun owners with the Supreme Court's accepting the District of Columbia case against the right for individuals to bear arms.
Here's what you need to do:
First - vote on this one.
Second - Send it to other folks and have THEM vote - then we will see if the results get published.
LINK--> CLICK HERE TO GO TO USA TODAY POLL AND VOTE.
The question posed is:
Does the Second Amendment give individuals the right to bear arms?
When I voted, the number of people who voted was 10626598. So far, 97% of respondents voted YES!

Watch: HUGE Albany, NY NRA RALLY - 'WE WILL NOT COMPLY'!
3 video's below: To anyone who hasn't figured this out, I stand with these patriots!
The right to keep and bear arms is 'unalienable' and "shall not be infringed'! As far as I'm concerned, this makes all gun control laws illegal.
The NRA President, David Keene, was a speaker at the Albany, NY NRA rally held Thursday, Feb.28, where a massive croud protested NY's draconian-constitution-violating-gun-control law.
Keene fired up the crowd saying at one point, “We’ll help you defeat the politicians depriving you of your rights,” Keene said. “We’ll do whatever is necessary. We will not allow those freedoms to be taken from us.”
This law was signed by Gov. Cuomo in January which made New York state's gun laws the most restrictive in the nation.
According to one speaker, gun control advocates want to make this about a 'right to hunt'. He responded to this by saying, "We have a consititutional right to bear arms, and that's what this is about!"

NRA PRESS CONFERENCE (VIDEO) Following Sandy Hook Tragedy 12/21/12
If the media and political elite were honest, they would listen hard to what this man is saying.
But, they are not honest. They are hell bent on politicizing this incident to restrict our right to keep and bear arms.
Without question, Newtown is a horrific tragedy. But, it's because there are restrictions on firearms that things like this happen more often.
If schools were not "gun free zones", maybe this insane shooter would have thought twice; might have decided against his tragic course of action.
Our Constitution restricts the government. The Second Amendment 'is supposed to' prevent the government from infringing on our right to keep and bear arms.
I'd like to know the shooter's history. I'd like to know about his contacts, teachers, government/state involvement, psychological history, his doctors names, and other associated entities.
I ask myself if this guy could have been programmed to carryout such a horrific deed. I ask myself the same questions surrounding the shooting in the movie theater in Aurora, Colorado.
I don't think it wise to underestimate the lengths the government would go to create an anti-second amendment sentiment. They didn't seem to mind that hundreds of folks would be murdered with firearms walked across our southern border into Mexico. They wanted the murders, in fact.
Why else would the government not put tracking devices on the firearms like Bush did with his gun walking Operation?
So, Fast and Furious was a disaster for the administration and other proponents of gun control. Conservatives halted the U.N. Arms Trade Treaty, so that attempt to back-door gun control in our country failed.
As crazy as it would sound in another era, this day and age I wouldn't put it past this administration (or some clandestine entity of the government) to have something like this occur. Why? To further their agenda, of course - Citizen disarmament in this case.
I don't like thinking this could be a possibility, but I would not rule it out unless I examined all the facts myself.

Letter : Australian Gun Confiscation turns Law Abiding into Sheep... Is This our Future?
From the Conservablogger Inbox: Below is a letter from Australian Citizen which informs us of the success of the firearms confiscation in Australia. This is something we shoud consider when the UN Arms Treaty is passed and we are told to turn in our firearms.
Here in the USA, Our government is supposed to protect our rights to life, liberty and our pursuit of happiness. If they try to take our guns, they are infringing on those basic rights... which are self evident. I don't need any government telling me what my rights are; or what they aren't! Here is the letter:

Soros Promotes U.N. Gun Control Mainstreams Propaganda through Mediamatters
Below, I reference an article, written by Joe Wolverton, II
that was posted on infowars.
Here are some pull quotes:
"Top officials from the United Nations, the United States, and other high profile supporters have repeatedly and clearly said that the treaty does not aim to restrict anyone’s “freedom to own” a gun. Indeed, the UN General Assembly’s resolution on the treaty makes clear that countries will “exclusively” maintain the right within their borders to “regulate internal transfers of arms and national ownership, including through national constitutional protections on private ownerships.”
Constitutionalists will instantly notice a couple of red flags raised by Media Matters’ word choice.
First, there need be no quotation marks around the phrase freedom to own a gun. Americans should enjoy the unqualified right to bear arms and it is not some antiquated idea or some unicorn-like mythical creature that requires special punctuational treatment. Americans are well aware that an unarmed citizenry is easier to subdue and will rightly resist all efforts to abridge that right."
READ THE REST OF THE INFOWARS PIECE HERE! <--LINK
I have already noted numerous news stories and human interest stories related to young children being killed due to drive-bye shootings and crossfire incidents. I suppose we'll begin seeing more of these type stories on the big 3. What the UN and its globalist cohorts need to know is that the United State's Citizens don't recognize their ability to give, allow us to keep, nor take away any of our God given rights.
Once we allow them to say they are "Letting" us "have a gun", we are giving them the authority to take them away. It's quite a word game they are playing.
They have no say in the matter, just as the article states.
I think Soros wants to see Americans disarmed. We would then be easier prey to his goal of a world wide open society... a world with no national sovereignty.
We can not allow them to dismantle our constitution. They have been chipping away at it for some time and much of it, I fear, has been discarded by our 'leaders'.
What are your thoughts?
