If Gov't Can Make Bullets Disappear From Stores, Why Can't It Make Food And Medicine?

February 18, 2013

By Charlie Daniels

I know some of you folks don't shoot, but to the many of you who do, I would like to pose a question.

Have you tried to purchase any ammunition lately?

All calibers are disappearing from store shelves, but .22 long rifles, in bulk, can't be found at all anywhere, even the most dependable internet super dealers are out of stock and are making no promises about when they'll be available again, and it's my opinion that soon the same thing will be true about the other calibers.

I readily admit that one of the reasons is that Barack Obama's outright war on guns, the "feel good" juvenile antics of Governor Cuomo of New York and the childish Democrats in the Missouri and Wisconsin state legislatures have scared legal gun owners into stockpiling ammunition, justly fearing that it will get hard, if not impossible to get.

But, can somebody please tell me why Homeland Security and many other, supposedly benign government agencies have bought over two billion rounds and are ordering millions more of all calibers, even the smaller ones?

Why does a shoot-to-kill outfit like Homeland Security need tiny caliber bullets like .22's that are made for hunting small game? Is Homeland Security going to start exterminating squirrels or rabbits, and why does an agency like Social Security need any kind of ammunition?

Is this a back door attempt at gun control, a way around a Congress that is scared to death of gun legislation? Another presidential backstreet move to have his way by hook or crook and blame it on free market demand? Just dry up the ammo and the guns will be useless?

My information is that the manufacturers are straining every nerve trying to keep up with the demand, but with Homeland Security commandeering so much of their production, the task is impossible.

Is this the beginning of the weaning of America?

It's a scary scenario, but let me relate an even scarier one.

If the government can make bullets disappear from store shelves, why couldn't it make food disappear, or fuel or medicine, or anything else for that matter?

The point being that big government can do just about anything they want to and there's little the minority of us who fear it can do about it as long as the majority who don't fear it keeps tripping down the primrose path with their heads in the clouds and their hands out.

There is a little known piece of legislation that passed Congress a while back called The Food Safety Modernization Act and the provisions are shadowy at best, having to do with agriculture and the production of food in America.

I checked into it when I found out about it only to find the bill had just cleared the Senate and was on President Obama's desk. What struck me as strange was the fact that our two Tennessee Senators were split on the vote; Bob Corker voted against it and Lamar Alexander voted for it.

I was assured by Senator Alexander's office that "Senator Alexander would never do anything to hurt the farmers." Well, does that mean that Senator Corker would do something to hurt the farmers by voting against it? Which means that one of the Senators voted against the farmers of Tennessee. Which one?

The provisions of the bill are said to protect the food supply, but what does that mean when it's taken out of government speak and translated into plain English?

Personally, I believe the government has taken upon itself the power to interrupt agriculture at any time it chooses under the guise of keeping tainted or otherwise unsafe food out of the market - up to, and including, the planting and harvesting of private home gardens.

The flow of medicine could easily be interrupted by claiming it contained impurities and harmful substances.

We've already seen how fuel can be rationed - just slow down the availability and delivery.

Big government can bring this nation to its knees in a matter of days. And, with a passive Senate and an ever more acquiescent Supreme Court, the power to do so is falling into the hands of one man.

Shaky ground for a free nation.

What do you think?

Pray for our troops and the peace of Jerusalem.

God Bless America

Obama DHS Purchases 2,700 Light-Armored Tanks to Go With Their 1.6 Billion Bullet Stockpile

TheGatewayPundit reported:

This is getting a little creepy.
According to one estimate, since last year the Department of Homeland Security has stockpiled more than 1.6 billion bullets, mainly .40 caliber and 9mm.

homeland security mrap

recently retrofitted 2,717 of these ‘Mine Resistant Protected’ vehicles for service on the streets of the United States.

Although I’ve seen and read several online blurbs about this vehicle of late, I decided to dig slightly deeper and discover more about the vehicle itself.

The new DHS sanctioned ‘Street Sweeper’ (my own slang due to the gun ports) is built by Navistar Defense (NavistarDefense.com), a division within the Navistar organization. Under the Navistar umbrella are several other companies including International Trucks, IC Bus (they make school buses), Monaco RV (recreational vehicles), WorkHorse (they make chassis), MaxxForce (diesel engines), and Navistar Financial (the money arm of the company).

DHS even released a video on their newly purchased MRAPs.

The MRAP featured in this video is was in Albuquerque, New Mexico for Law Enforcement Day which was held at a local area Target Store. This MRAP is stationed in El Paso, Texas at The Homeland Security Investigations Office. MRAP is a Mine Resistant Armor Protected Vehicle.

Watch - Boehner on Sequestration: I think Bob Woodward was Right 'Meet the Press' 3/3/13

Breitbart Reported today that Boehner  will capitulate to Obama regarding budget  and the upcoming debt ceiling situation. Breitbart reports that the House Speaker intends to lett Obama have a continuing resolution that will last until the end of the 2013 fiscal year.  The aim here is to allow Obama to protect republicans in the 2014 midterm elections.  Don't ask me how this strategy is to accomplish this.

OBAMA SNL PARODY - 3/2/13 'I DON'T KNOW HOW MONEY WORKS'

I guess we are supposed to take from this that the president doesn't know what he's doing economically, right?

May I be so bold?  Obama and his radical administration knows exactly what they are doing.

We are being downsized.  This is the intent, as-per a fascinating conglomeration of forces.

One force is  the U.N. mandates associated with  Sustainable Development as-per Agenda 21.  Others are related to Obama's own Marxist, Liberation Theology, and yet other forces  are so-called, Progressives who desire  complete control over all the cattle (that's you and me) of the land.

The unabashed  taxing, borrowing and spending is part of this equation.   To that end, they've redefined the reduction in  the rate of government-growth by dishonestly arguing it to be a devastating cut.!

Bankrupting America is a primary objective (I feel) because  it  will put us on even-par, possibly worse, with the EU, eventually, and people will be rioting in the streets.

So, my point  is, NBC would rather have SNL  make fun of (or promote an Obama-ignorance-notion),  rather than have viewers (mostly low-information voters) entertain other, potentially more damaging  notionsEssentially, this is 'preemptive suggestion' (propaganda) designed to protect the real agenda.

WATCH: What a Putz! Snarky Obama Mixes Star Trek and Star Wars while Sounding like an Ass

This guy is so full of bunk.

"Most people", he says. He says Congress has a constitutional duty. Whom is that duty to benefit? His political objectives?

The expert in all subjects, Obama, has the plan that's good for America?   Apparently, according to his B.S., government can't cut 2.5 cents of every dollar it spends while borrowing 46 cents of every dollar; and something is wrong with congress?

Let me tell you, Mr. President, I'm glad you aren't a dictator. I'm glad congress is saying no to your revenue increases. The budget needs  a trillion dollar cut from this year, not just a scrawny $44B.

This is fantastic.  Great job to the creators.

Watch: HUGE Albany, NY NRA RALLY - 'WE WILL NOT COMPLY'!

3 video's below:  To anyone who hasn't figured this out, I stand with these patriots!

The right to keep and bear arms is 'unalienable' and "shall not be infringed'!  As far as I'm concerned, this makes all gun control laws illegal.

The NRA President, David Keene, was a speaker at the Albany, NY NRA rally held Thursday, Feb.28, where a massive croud  protested NY's draconian-constitution-violating-gun-control law.

Keene fired up the crowd saying at one point, “We’ll help you defeat the politicians depriving you of your rights,” Keene said. “We’ll do whatever is necessary. We will not allow those freedoms to be taken from us.”

This law was signed by Gov. Cuomo in January which made New York state's gun laws the most restrictive in the nation.

According to one speaker, gun control advocates want to make this about a 'right to hunt'.  He responded to this by saying, "We have a consititutional right to bear arms, and that's what this is about!"
