Passengers’ Prayers Trigger Cockpit Lockdown on LA Flight

LOS ANGELES (The Blaze/AP) — Pilots on an Alaska Airlines flight from Mexico City to Los Angeles locked down the cockpit and alerted authorities Sunday when a flight crew grew alarmed at the behavior of three men who turned out to be conducting an elaborate orthodox Jewish prayer ritual, officials said.

The men, all Mexican nationals, began the ritual that involves tying leather straps and small wooden boxes to the body, and the crew of Flight 241 alerted the cockpit, airline spokeswoman Bobbie Egan said.... LINK TO FULL BLAZE STORY

Now, I can't say I wouldn't be alarmed by  this  myself, but if no weapons were being brandished, and no threatening actions were being taken maybe one of the flight crew could have asked the men what they were doing.

If the Passengers were chanting Islamic Prayers, the entire flight crew and the Airline itself would be burning at the stake in the media.  ABC, NBC, CBS and even CNN would be chewing that airline to the bone, accusing them of racial profiling and religious intolerance.

Do you remember what happened to Juan Williams (<-Link to Huffington Post story) formerly of  NPR who voiced feeling nervous, after 9/11, when seeing people in muslim garb on airplanes?  He was fired!
